The District Primary Court Justice has sentenced the accused of the murder of a private company owner in Coimbatore to life imprisonment
Coimbatore:The accused in the murder of a private company owner in Coimbatore has been sentenced to life imprisonment. The Primary Court justice in Coimbatore issued the verdict on Thursday, 10th March.
Muruganantham, (45), a native of Irugur in Coimbatore started an individual company, in which his ex-colleague and friend Satish Kumar, (29), demanded to be made partner. He also paid Rs 4 lakh in 2019 and asked for his inclusion as a partner. Muruganantham said that he would first work as an operator for the company and then join as a partner. Satish Kumar accepted the offer and worked for the company.
Reportedly, Muruganantham has also evaded payment of wages and never spoke of making Sathish the partner. Enraged, Sathish plotted to kill Muruganantham, sought help from Chandran of Namakkal district who works for the same company.
On November 19, 2019, Satish Kumar took Muruganantham to his house after consuming alcohol and killed Murugananand asphyxiating with a pillow and strangling him on the bed sheet. Chandran was an accomplice.
Singanallur police registered a case in connection with the incident and arrested Satish Kumar and Chandran. The case was being held in the first Additional Sessions Court at the Combined Court Complex, Coimbatore. Justice sentenced Satish Kumar and Chandran to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 3,000 each.
