The Coimbatore City Police Commissioner Pradip Kumar along with women police cut cakes as part of the Women's Day celebration.
He offered sweets to the police and wished them for Women's Day.
He also inaugurated a programme to provide cool drinks, buttermilk, fruit juices to the traffic police as summer has started mildly. He then granted leave to 60 women policemen working in the traffic and traffic investigation unit.
Deputy Commissioner Senthil Kumar and police were present on the occasion. Various parties across the country extended greetings to women on the occasion of Women's Day. Similarly, women from various organisations gathered together at various places in Coimbatore to celebrate the occasion.
