Ravathur Village in Irugur adoption ceremony organised

The Village Adoption Ceremony 2022 by RVS Educational Trust, Women Self Help Group, and College National Service Scheme, was held on 8th March, in which the Ravathur Village in Irugur Town Panchayat was adopted


Coimbatore:The Village adoption ceremony of Ravathur Village under Irugur Town Panchayat in Coimbatore was held yesterday, 8th March.



RVS Educational Trust and Women's Self Help Group, College National Service Scheme jointly adopted the Ravathur village in Irugur Town Panchayat, and a function to celebrate the setting up of a library for rural women was held.

The function was attended by College Management Trustee Senthil Ganesh and Correspondent Vidya Lakshmi Senthil Ganesh. College Principal Dr. T. Sivakumar welcomed everyone. College Secretary Professor Saramma Samuel was present and introduced the special guest.

Irugur Town Panchayat President A Chandran highlighted the village’s progress and stated that the girls in the village should be self-sufficient, in terms of education and self-employment. He expressed that it was a credit to the village is being adopted by the RVS educational trust.



The chief guest, Elina Z Moses, an Israeli, speaking on the occasion, said that women from the village should grow up to an extent that they become the nation’s Prime Minister and should achieve in life, no matter how many miles they have to cross in the process. She stated that women should be independent, of education and employment, and mentioned of the significance of a girl’s parents’ support in educating her.

Dr. Vivekananda, president of the Students Welfare Council, participated and said that women should use the women's library.He said self-employment should be taught and their contribution to the town and society were very significant.

Vice Principal Dr. Ayyappa Das expressed his gratitude on the occasion. Directors of the department, professors, and students participated.
