A road-side coconut tree in Sokkanur-Veerappakoundanur road fell off on a man travelling on his bike and he who suffering serious injuries died on his way to hospital.
Coimbatore: A quarry worker in Kinathukadavu died after a coconut tree fell on him accidentally.
Keerthi Vijayakumar, (24), hails from Aaviyampalayam near Nilakottai in Dindigul district. He stayed near the old checkpoint in Kinathukadavu and worked as a labourer in a private quarry at Veerappakoundanur.
Reportedly, while he was back home from work, as he was approaching Sokkanur on Chokkanur-Veerappagoundanur road a coconut tree on the side of the road broke and fell on his bike. A seriously injured Vijayakumar was rescued by the passersby and taken to Pollachi Government Hospital. Unfortunately he died on his way to the hospital.
The Kinathukadavu police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
