The Coimbatore Corporation Mayor, Kalpana Anandakumar planted saplings at the Corporation Primary school in Karupparayanpalayam, ward 6 in East Zone, inaugurating the initiative under the Tamil Nadu Urban Employment Scheme
Coimbatore:Mayor Kalpana Anandakumar planted saplings at primary school in Corporation east zone.
Kalpana Anandakumar, the Coimbatore City Mayor, inaugurated the planting of saplings under Tamil Nadu Urban Employment Scheme at Karupparayanpalayam Corporation Primary School campus, ward 6,in Coimbatore Corporation East Zone.
The Urban Employment Scheme, at an estimated cost of Rs 100 crore stake is disbursed in 2 zones in Metropolitan Chennai Corporation, one zone each in other Corporations, one Municipality each in 7 Municipal Administration Zones in 7 Municipalities and one Town Panchayat each in 37 Districts in 37 Town Panchayats will be implemented this year, to enhance the livelihood of the poor.
So far, 1220 beneficiaries have been issued identity cards for Tamil Nadu Urban Employment Scheme in the city’s East Zone. As many as 3753 persons have applied for the Tamil Nadu Urban Employment Scheme ID card. These people will be waged based on the amount of work decided by the government.
A maximum salary of Rs 382 per day will be paid, and wages are paid once a week. The wages for employment will be credited to the bank account of the workers through e-fund management system (e-FMS).
The Deputy Mayor R. Vetriselvan, Municipal Engineer (P) Ramaswamy, Members of the council, Coimbatore Babu (a) M. Selvakumar, S. Ponnuswamy, K. Vijayakumar, Former Town Panchayat President Payya Krishnan, Assistant Executive Engineer Sundararajan, Assistant Engineer Kumar, and Regional Health Inspector Muruga were present on the occasion.
