Vetri Selvan, the DMK Ward No. 92 candidate who won the Urban Local Body polls has been appointed as the Deputy Mayor of Coimbatore Corporation, winning the post unopposed.
The Urban Local Body polls were held in Coimbatore on February 19 and the DMK alliance pulled off a sweeping victory.
DMK candidates, Kalpana of Ward No. 19 and Vetri Selvan of Ward No. 92 were elected unopposed as Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Coimbatore, respectively.
Vetri Selvan had earlier served as the Taluk Secretary of DMK.
