The Aatmanirbhar Bharat Rozgar Yojana (ABRY) initiative of the Government of India aimed to revive the economy and provide relief to stressed sectors in the post- lockdown period. The package looked to incentivize creation of new employment and restoration of lost employment during the COVID pandemic. The main thrust of the ABRY Scheme is on new employees and re-employment of persons with low wages who had lost their jobs during the pandemic period.
