Coimbatore: Sadhguru while addressing during the Shivratri celebrations at ISHA, highlighted the significance of soil. He stated that people should give voices for laws that protect soil that have to be brought-in by the government.
Mahashivratri was celebrated at Isha Yoga Centre. The celebrations were held at the Adiyogi’s premises. Sadhguru spoke at the function held in which he stated, “There is no country without soil. There is no life without soil. For life and death, soil is the need. If there is no strength in the soil, we too shall lose strength.
He said that soil fertility is rapidly becoming extinct globally. Many scientists warn that food production will be reduced by 40-percent within the next 25 years. At the same time, it is said that our population will rise to 900 crores. If the population increases and food production decreases, food shortages in the country will become a major problem. In the event of food shortages, civilization and culture will be lost in just three days, humanity will disappear.
To prevent this plight from developing, Sadhaguru said that a global soil conservation campaign will be launched by them, to protect our soil. “We have met various heads of state and scientists in the last 8 months. We are going to work with various organizations of the United Nations.”
He informed that in London on March 21, he will travel for 30,000 km on motorcycle, starting from London to Cauvery through various countries. During the nearly 100-day visit, he is planning to communicate the message to 192 countries in the world to enact appropriate laws to protect the soil.
Calling the country a democracy and the people heroes, he wanted us not to sit idle and contribute to the betterment of soil. The destruction of soil fertility will be a major impact not only on us but also on the next generation. Hence, he said that anybody can share a 10 minute video on what they know about soil conversion on social media for at least 10 minutes a day.
“People who do not know how to use social media should talk to friends and others about soil fertility. All the people should come together and raise their voices to make laws protecting soil fertility.”
He said that the political parties should also overcome their ideological differences and make efforts to save the soil.
