In a bid to put an end to the ongoing wage revision issue, the Coimbatore Collector met with representatives of both the parties together at the Collectorate.
Coimbatore: After repeated discussions regarding implementation of promised revised wages for Powerloom unit owners by Master Weavers failed, the District Collector, G.S. Sameeran on Monday convened a meeting with both the parties to reach an amicable solution.
Alleging the master weavers for not issuing a written agreement based on the revised wages announced recently by the State government, the owners of powerloom units in Coimbatore and Tiruppur districts have been waging a multi-pronged struggle in this regard.

Meanwhile, it is noteworthy that the poweloom unions has decided to hold a protest in Tirupur, Somanur and Karumathampatti, tomorrow.
