1.5-tons of adulterated tea powder seized by officials in Chinnavedampatti

The Department of food and safety had been receiving complaints about adulteration carried out in a tea dust manufacturing company in Cheinnavedampatti, Coimbatore.

Reacting to the tip off, the officials of the department, yesterday conducted a vigil at the tea factory. During the search operation it was found that adulterated substances we added to the tea dust. Close to 1.5 tons of tea dust was seized by the department.

Officials from this department share that action will be taken against this tea manufacturing unit as per law and assured that vigil on adulteration will continue.
