Vijay 26, son of Palanichamy, from Arundathiar Road, Ellapalayam, Namakkal District was working as a Quality Engineer in a private company in Coimbatore.
On Sunday, Vijay was travelling back to his hometown after completing his work in Kinathukadavu in Coimbatore. Close to the bypass, near Eachanari, a Eicher van, which was speeding with a load of chicken to be transported to Kerala, collided head-on with Vijay's two-wheeler.In the impact, Vijay was thrown off his vehicle and sustained grave injuries.
He was rushed to the Coimbatore Government Hospital in an ambulance and treated at the intensive care unit. However, not responding to treatment the 26-year-old succumbed to his injuries.
Madukkarai police have registered a case and are investigating the road accident.
