Coimbatore: The price of one sovereign gold is at ₹ 40,000 as a result of the Russia-Ukraine clash and experts state that the price surge will not stop unless the war ends.

Russia- Ukraine war has resulted in increase in gold rates in Coimbatore.One sovereign gold touches ₹ 40,000 in Coimbatore and experts state that the price might touch ₹ 50,000 per sovereign if the war does not end. Among the scary consequences of the Russian attack on Ukraine, the gold prices that fell in the past few days has now surged up owing to the attack. Muthu Venkatram, President of Coimbatore Gold Jewellery Producers Association, said that the spread of corona infection led to the world's largest investment in gold. A total curfew was imposed and there was no sale of jewellery but gold prices have increased exponentially globally.

“The price of a sovereign gold in India crossed ₹ 42,000 that etched a historic rise, but prices began to fall after the spread of infection slowed down. For the past few months, the price of sovereign gold has been selling at a range of ₹ 35,000 to ₹ 36,000. However, gold prices began to rise from the time of the war between Russia and Ukraine began.” He added that in the last 15 days the price of one sovereign of gold has increased by ₹ 2,000 in Coimbatore.On February 8, the price of sovereign gold was around the ₹ 36,500 ranges and is currently selling at ₹ 38,500 ranges.

The price of sovereign gold crossed ₹ 40,000 in Coimbatore on Thursday, and on Friday, the price touched ₹ 38,936, with a slight reduction.

'If the war between Ukraine and Russia continues, the price of gold per sovereign will soon reach ₹ 48,000 to ₹ 50,000 rupees.'
