Sakthivel, 27, who was arrested by the Singanallur police for killing a fellow worker in 2019 has been sentenced with life imprisonment by the Coimbatore First Sessions Court judge on Thursday.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore first additional sessions court sentences Sakthivel, murder accused with life imprisonment for murder of fellow worker.
Sakthivel, 27, who was arrested by the Singanallur police for killing a fellow worker in 2019 is sentenced to life imprisonment by the Coimbatore Additional First Sessions Court judge on Thursday. Sakthivel who is a concrete worker from Neelikolampalayam, along with Suppan, 30 of Singanallur, his co-worker went for a drink on 15th September 2019 to a bar in Singanallur. Reportedly, the duo got into a dispute when Sakthivel insisted Suppan to pay for the drinks, which the latter refused.
A drunk Sakthivel smashed Suppan’s head with a huge rock (grinder stone) from nearby after Suppan abused Sakthivel’s mother, ending up killing him. The Singanallur police registered a case and arrested Sakthivel. Subsequently, the case was held in the First Sessions Court, Coimbatore. While the trial of the witnesses was over Justice S Nagarajan sentenced Sakthivel, to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs.1,000.
