Flights, passengers and cargo movements are expected to further increase in the months ahead.
Coimbatore: Coimbatore International Airport witnessed 1,04,370 passenger movements during January 2022.
As per the official data by the Airport Authority of India (AAI), the Coimbatore International Airport witnessed a total of 1,04,370 passengers which includes 8,486 passengers in the international sector and 95,884 passengers in the domestic sector.
Under the 'Cargo' category, 622 tonnes of cargo was handled during January which includes 107 tonnes in the international sector and 515 tonnes of cargo in the domestic sector.
Though the third wave of 'Covid- 19' has reduced passenger footfall and cargo movements, airport sources say that they expect flights, passengers and cargo movements to further increase in the months ahead.
