Amman K Arjunan was addressing the AIADMK workers while commemorating the 74th birth anniversary of former CM J Jayalalitha.
Coimbatore: The 74th birth anniversary of former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, J Jayalalitha was celebrated at the Idhaya Deivam Maligai AIADMK Office in Coimbatore on Thursday, February 24.
'AIADMK will recapture all 40 seats in Parliamentary elections in Coimbatore,' reiterated AIADMK District Secretary, Amman K Arjunan at the 74th birth anniversary celebrations of the former Chief Minister.
The AIADMK members offered floral tributes to the portrait of Jayalalitha at the Idhaya Deivam Hall. Statues of MGR and Jayalalitha were erected at Anna Salai on Avinashi Road, under the chairmanship of Amman K Arjunan.
Speaking to the AIADMK workers at the Idhaya Deivam Bhavan, Amman Arjunan stated that Coimbatore was always AIADMK’s stronghold. "Though we lost in the Urban Local Body polls, we will win in the coming Parliamentary elections. This election was bogus and AIADMK has a history of bouncing back immediately, once pulled down. Hence I want none to be worried about the defeat,” added Amman K Arjunan.
He alleged that the Intelligence Bureau that predicted a high-win percentage for AIADMK is maintaining a queer silence. Amman Arjunan added that the informers from the counting centres stated that the EVMs were opened before completion of Postal Vote Counting and that DMK distributed gifts and money to the public, to win the election a month ago itself.
Calling this a defeat to the ‘Karur men,’ Amman Arjunan vowed that AIADMK will win all the 40 seats in the coming Parliamentary elections. Party functionaries and workers including Singanallur MLA K R Jayaram were present on the occasion.
