Coimbatore: The Central Provident Fund Commissioner Neelam Shami is scheduled to visit Coimbatore on February 24.
Assistant PF Commissioner, M S Suresh announced that the Central PF Commissioner will be visiting Coimbatore for the first time after taking charge. During her visit, Neelam Shami will have an interactive session with leading employers as well as employees, at the Hotel Residency on Avinashi Road in Coimbatore between 10.30 am and 12.45 pm. The press briefing will also be held on Thursday at 11:30 am.
Neelam Shami Rao is a 1992 batch IAS officer of the Madhya Pradesh Cadre and had assumed charge as the Central Provident Fund Commissioner of the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) on December 7, 2021. Before taking over as the Central Provident Fund Commissioner, she had served in various capacities in the Government of Madhya Pradesh and in the Government of India.
During the program, various initiatives of the EPFO with regard to improved service delivery and benefits that were introduced for employers and employees during the Covid-19 pandemic as well as the implementation of the statutory provisions will be highlighted and discussed.
After the program, the Central Provident Fund Commissioner will be visiting the zonal and regional offices of EPFO at Dr. Balasundaram Road in Coimbatore.
