Coimbatore: District Collector Dr. G.S Sameeran inaugurated the mobile exhibition vehicle highlighting the life and legacies of veteran freedom fighter of Tamil Nadu, VO Chidambaram, here on Wednesday.
In a bid to educate the school students of the life history of V.O. Chidambaranar his yeomen contribution towards Indian freedom movement,the Chief Minister of TN, MK Stalin recently inaugurated the mobilephoto exhibition in Chennai, on behalf of the Information and Public Relations Department on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of freedom fighter V.O. Chidambaram.
The exhibition bus arrived in Coimbatore today, 23rd February, and was flagged off by District Collector Sameeran. The bus will travel to government schools in Coimbatore district for the next two days, 23 and 24 February, today and tomorrow covering areas including, Ganapathi, Saravanampatti, Kovilpalayam, Annur, Anaiyur, Sirumugaipudur, Kuniyamuthur, Malumichampatti, Othakkal Mandapam, Kinathukadavu, Cheripalayam
The bus is adorned with a statue of VOC, photographs depicting his biography, references to the period of his struggle for Indian independence, a photograph of the cold press (Sekku) pulled by him in Coimbatore Central Jail, and a photo of Indira Gandhi unveiling a statue of VOC.
