The DMK candidate, Parthiban who contested at Ward No. 32 in Coimbatore Corporation won the Urban Local Body elections with a 2842 vote difference.
Coimbatore: The DMK candidate, Parthiban who contested in the Urban Local Body elections at Ward No. 32 in Coimbatore Corporation won by a 2842 vote difference.
After it was announced that the DMK candidate Parthiban had won the elections in Ward No. 32 in Coimbatore Municipal Corporation, the AIADMK, BJP and independent candidates created chaos alleging that DMK had committed irregularities in counting to win the Ward. The candidates have now demanded re-election and also agitated stating that authorities refused to respond with four EVMs open and instead tried to compromise them.
As per the results, the DMK candidate Parthiban secured 5330 votes and hence won by a vote margin of 2842 votes over the AIADMK candidate who secured 2488 votes.
