The Peelamedu Police are on the hunt for the robbers who broke-in a house at Peelamedu and stole 10 sovereigns of gold and cash Rs.5,000 while the owner was away to cast his vote on polling day.
Coimbatore: Miscreants break-in a house and steal gold and cash kept at the house on Saturday.
Eswaramurthy, 56, belongs Goldwins area next to Coimbatore. He is doing cotton business. Reportedly, Eswaramoorthy left his house on Saturday to cast his vote and then left to a relative’s house in Thudiyalur.
Upon returning on Sunday morning, he found the front door open. A look inside revealed that the miscreants had broken into the house and stolen 10 pounds of gold jewellery and Rs.5,000 in cash. Eswaramoorthy then lodged a complaint with the Peelamedu police.
The police have launched investigations based on the evidences collected from the crime scene and the CCTV recordings.
