Coimbatore: Police are investigating an incident in which a woman fell down and died on the steps of a business complex on Crosscut Road in Gandhipuram.
Sivakumar hails from Chinnavedampatti near Saravanampatti in Coimbatore. His wife was Sumathi (age 47). He went to the "Celebration Tower" shopping complex on Crosscut Road, Gandhipuram to buy goods. Then while climbing the stairs she suddenly stumbled and fell down.
She suffered a serious head injury and throbbed with pain. Shocked, those present rescued her and took her to a nearby private hospital.
She was later taken to another private hospital for further treatment. But there she died tragically. The Kattoor police have registered a case and are conducting an investigation.
