The urban local body elections is underway in Coimbatore and so far, 40.39 percent of the votes have been cast. The corporation, on its twitter page, has tweeted asking the public to cast their votes before elections conclude.
So far, only 6,32,110 votes, i.e., 40.39 percent, have been cast in the Coimbatore corporation area, Coimbatore district recorded a total voter turnout of 46.52 percent as of 3 pm. Out of this, 40.39 percent of the Coimbatore corporation area, 53.80% in municipal areas, 61.31% of Town Panchayats have been recorded.
The city corporation, to encourage people to vote, has taken to their Twitter handle asking all voters to vote.
