Coimbatore: The Chennai Meteorological Department has stated that several districts including Coimbatore will receive moderate rain for four days from Friday, February 18 due to a downward cycle.

Several districts, including Coimbatore and The Nilgiris in Tamil Nadu will be prone to moderate rainfall for four days from Friday. A press release issued by the Chennai Meteorological Department Director, Senthamarakannan, stated that "Due to the downward rotation in Kerala and adjoining areas, the southern coastal districts will receive moderate rainfall today. Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagai, Mayiladuthurai, Tirunelveli, Pudukottai and Karaikal areas will have moderate rainfall in a couple of areas. Chennai will experience light fog in the morning. Tomorrow and the next day, southern districts including Thanjavur, Thiruvarur, Nagai, Mayiladuthurai, Tirunelveli, Pudukottai, and Karaikal will receive moderate rainfall. On February 21, Kanyakumari, Tenkasi, Theni, Dindigul, Virudhunagar, Tiruppur, Coimbatore and Nilgiris districts will receive moderate rainfall at one or two places. As of Thursday morning, the maximum rainfall was 6 cm at Pechiparai in Kanyakumari district.
