The residents at the Government Slum Clearance Board in Pullakadu region have demanded clarity on their wards, candidates contesting and their respective polling booths stating no candidate turned up campaign in their region
Coimbatore: The residents at the slum clearance in Pullukadu region in Ukkadam have raised questions on the candidate, ward, polling station details for their region as no candidate was present at their place for campaigning.
The Government Slum Clearance Board has quarters in Ukkadam Pullukadu area of Coimbatore. Residents from various places where accommodated in the quarters during the Smartcity works in the city, and they have been living in the area for more than 2 years.
The residents have informed that they are confused as they do not know the candidates contesting in their ward as booth slips are yet to be given to them for the urban local body elections. When asked about the scenario, the residents alleged that no candidate have visited their area to campaign and the residents are unaware of their ward number.
With just a day to go for the urban local polls, the residents of the colony have demanded answers. They also pointed out that they were unable to vote in the assembly elections in 2021, because of this confusion.
