Tirupur District Collector inspects CCTV footage from sensitive polling booths

The Tirupur District Collector Vineeth inspected the CCTV footage from the 131 sensitive polling booths in Tirupur Corporation on Thursday, ahead of the urban local body elections.


Tirupur: The Tirupur District Collector Vineeth inspected the CCTV footages from the 131 sensitive polling booths in Tirupur Corporation on Thursday, ahead of the urban local body elections.



The District Collector of Tirupur, Dr. S Vineeth personally reviewed the footage captured on surveillance cameras placed at tense polling stations under Tirupur Corporation. A total of 776 polling centers have been set up for 60 wards under Tirupur Corporation, out of which 131 polling stations have been identified as sensitive and surveillance cameras have been installed. Arrangements have been made to view the footage captured on the surveillance camera directly from the control room set up in the corporate office. This was personally reviewed by District Election Officer and District Collector Vineeth.



The Collector was given elaborations about the preparations made by Corporation Commissioner and Municipal Corporation Election Officer Kranthi Kumar Pati. The District Collector also inspected the arrangements and accessories made for the differently able, such as wheelchairs and goods to be sent to polling centers.
