Coimbatore: Annamalai, the Bharatiya Janata Party State President is involved in intense campaigning for the BJP candidates contesting in local polls, with just a day remaining for the elections.
On the last day of campaigning for the urban local body elections, various parties are engaged in intensive campaigning on Thursday. The BJP state president Annamalai campaigned in support of second ward BJP candidate Vatsala at Vellakinar in Thudiyalur.

He promised to implement the schemes of the Union Government if they win the elections and solve the street light issue in the area immediately after assuming office. He also accused the Chief Minister of making various promises without allocating funds in the budget and without any proper order. He alleged that the Karur DMK men were distributing silver anklets to the public in Coimbatore for votes while, the anklets were only 16% silver.
Annamalai stressed that in order to implement welfare schemes for the public, including the drinking water facilities in the area, BJP should be in power, and he claimed that the Chief Minister has been making false promises.

He added that the Prime Minister hugely respected the frontline workers and said that he has been working meticulously on ‘protecting temples’. While delivering his campaign address, he asked the DMK not to park the vehicles nearby. The crowd burst into laughter when he blamed the DMK for the microphone’s occasional failure.
