Coimbatore: The Thudiyalur Police performed a flag parade on Thursday at Thudiyalur, ahead of the urban local body elections that are to be held in Coimbatore on February 19.
The parade was to symbolise protection to the public during the urban local body elections and to encourage them to go out and vote with no fear. More than 500 policemen with protective gears marched in the parade.
The Election Commission of Tamil Nadu has issued orders to end all campaigning by 6 pm on Thursday, and hence both independent and other political party candidates are presently campaigning briskly.
