Ex-Minister SP Velumani terms DMK ‘scared’ at campaign in Pollachi and states party has been murdering democracy by distributing gifts for votes

The former AIADMK Minister SP Velumani who campaigned in Pollachi in support of AIADMK candidates contesting in ward 36, stated that the DMK has been distributing gifts and money for votes with police support, as they are scared, only to murder democracy


Pollachi: The former AIADMK Minister SP Velumani campaigned in Pollachi in support of AIADMK candidates contesting in ward 36 on Wednesday.

The former AIADMK Minister addressed the press after a campaign in Pollachi. He stated, that the public was furious, and disappointed at the Chief Minister as no welfare scheme has been implemented in the last 9 months of DMK rule.



He said, 'The ruling party has been spreading false information and has frozen 110 crores by falsely accusing me of covering it up.' The ex-minister stated that nothing was recovered from his house and his relatives during the income tax raids. He further said that the public is ready to ‘boycott’ the DMK,stating that none are now able to build houses as a bribe of Rs 2,000 is being received for taking a load of sand.

Velumani calling Coimbatore a peaceful city stated that the DMK has been bringing in thugs from other states to collapse the peace and causing riots and attacking the AIADMK, registering a case against them. He alleged that DMK has been offering money and gifts to the public with police support and termed them ‘scared’. 'With the help of the police, they are carrying out democratic assassinations by handing out payments and gifts at multiple locations in and around the city.' He added that a protest will be staged if the crime is not stopped.

SP Velumani expressed confidence that ADMK would win the local polls in Coimbatore district.
