The Romanian Citizen Negoita Stefan Marius, took part in the local body campaign by distributing pamphlets and holding placards in Singanallur area of Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: A Romanian named Stephen who arrived at Coimbatore for business purposes has been rallying support for DMK in Singanallur area.
Stephen who is on a business trip to Coimbatore from Romania stated that he was hugely impressed by the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s free bus travel scheme for women. Stephen, who has a habit of traveling through Government public transport during his trips abroad to understand the locals, was taken by surprise when he learned from a friend that women had free travel in TN buses.
While travelling in a local bus here, Stephen enquired about how there were no tickets being issued to women traveling on the bus. His friend Gokul appraised him of the CM's scheme. Following this, Stephen lauded Chief Minister M K Stalin and expressed his desire to his friend to campaign in the urban local body elections to help DMK garner votes. With the help of Gokul and some of the DMK party friends, Stephen is now accompanying DMK workers who are campaigning with the DMK flag on bullet bikes and buses.
'Women are not offered such schemes even in developed countries. Do vote for DMK. I have never campaigned for parties in my own country but came forward to rally support for DMK after learning about the scheme for women,' opined Stephen who has drawn attention among the public as he went about campaigning for the DMK in Coimbatore.
