The BJP Women Wing National President and Coimbatore South MLA, Vanathi Srinivasan demanded that the DMK functionaries from Karur need to be evicted out of Coimbatore since they were allegedly offering money to voters.
Coimbatore: The Coimbatore South Constituency MLA, Vanathi Sreenivasan has demanded immediate eviction of Karur DMK administrators from the city.
The BJP National Women's Wing President, Vanathi Srinivasan met reporters in the Kavundampalayam area and urged the Election Commission to evict the Karur district DMK administrators from Coimbatore. She alleged that they were paying voters at various places across Coimbatore and threatening BJP members who questioned their actions.
She opined that even if there was a complaint raised about it, no one would take action and there would be clashes in some places across the city. Hence, she urged the Election Commission to immediately take steps to evict them.
Calling out their defeat in the assembly elections, Vanathi stated that the DMK members were violating the rules to win this time. She also alleged that the Tamil Nadu Government had not taken any steps to fill the Siruvani dam to its full capacity. "The DMK has been threatening voters with their power at this last moment without paying attention to the needs of the people. The State Government has also not taken steps to ensure that the zoo in Coimbatore is fully operational," complained Vanathi Srinivasan.
The BJP State President is expected to campaign intensely in Coimbatore, on Thursday.
