Members of AIADMK gathered in front of a private godown in Nanjundapuram alleging that the DMK had stocked 'hot boxes' to distribute gifts to public in exchange for votes.
Coimbatore: A private godown in Nanjundapuram in Coimbatore was the target of ire among AIADMK cadres who alleged that 13 'hot boxes' were stored in the godown for buying votes during elections.
In the 62nd Ward of Nanjundapuram in Coimbatore Corporation, AIADMK men gathered in front of a godown alleging that DMK men had gathered there to distribute gift items to voters, by stocking hot boxes in the godown which is in a private estate.
The city police and the Village Administrative Officer were informed and rushed to the godown. The door had to be broken open since the owner of the estate delayed in arriving. There were about 13 boxes inside, two of which were opened and contained a hot box. No money was found in the box.
The AIADMK members then dispersed later. The police and election authorities are investigating based on the complaint.
