Coimbatore Collector lauds winners of Tamil Development Department competitions

The District Collector G S Sameeran congratulated the winners of the elocution and Thirukural recitation competitions held in Coimbatore for Government school students on the occasion of Gandhi and Nehru’s birth anniversaries.


Coimbatore: The Coimbatore District Collector congratulated winning students of competitions conducted on behalf of the Tamil Development Department.

The District Collector G S Sameeran felicitated all 16 students who won the elocution competition and four students who won the Thirukkural recitation competition in Coimbatore district. The competitions were held a few days ago on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Gandhiji and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, on behalf of the Tamil Development Department.



The Collector felicitated the students who won the first prize in the elocution competition by awarding them with a cheque of Rs.5,000 and certificates, Rs.3000 for the second prize and Rs.2000 each for the third prize, and Rs.10,000 for students who won the Thirukkural recitation competition.
