Nilgiris: The sale of roses in Ooty was overwhelming on Sunday, as Valentine's Day is celebrated on the 14th.

On the occasion of Valentine's Day in Ooty, the sale of roses from various states is rampant. Roses have been brought to the Nilgiris district from places including Bengaluru and Hosur. This has resulted in an increased rose inflow in shops in tourist centers including the Coonoor Sims Park.

A rose flower was sold for Rs 25 on Saturday and the price will increase, traders anticipate. Similarly, a lily flower was sold for Rs 75. Sales of flowers including 'Carnation, Spray Carnation, crisanthamam, Bird Operadis, Jerbara, Antorium,' have also increased. These flowers are also booked online in stores.
