Inspection of water heater manufacturing company regarding fake ISI stamp

A team led by Meenakshi Ganesan, head of the Coimbatore branch of the Standards Institution of India, conducted a surprise raid on a water heater manufacturing company in the city near Edayarpalayam in Coimbatore yesterday.


Coimbatore: A team led by Meenakshi Ganesan, head of the Coimbatore branch of the Indian Standards Institution, conducted a surprise raid on a water heater manufacturing company in the city near Edayarpalayam in Coimbatore yesterday. It was then revealed that a fake ISI stamp had been affixed to the water heater art made there without necessary permission. Authorities later confiscated the water heaters that were manufactured in the unit.

According to ISI officials, a case will be filed in the court in this regard.

Consumers can also complain about any defects in the ISI stamped products by contacting 0422- 2240141, 2249016, 2245984. Or send details of the complaint to [email protected]. Violators face up to a year in prison and a fine of at least one lakh rupees.
