Coimbatore: The introductory meeting of the candidates contesting the urban local government elections in the Nilgiris district of Coimbatore on behalf of the Naam Tamil Party was held at the wedding hall in the Kuniyamuthur area of Coimbatore. Seaman, the party's chief co-ordinator, took part. Seaman interacted with reporters.

He said that the Naam Tamil Party is more welcome in the forthcoming urban local elections saying that the election has not always been fair. He said that a fair election was being held in Kerala and added that Anna has been criticizing the Congress party for giving him money.

He questioned why the flying squad, which extorts money from passers-by on the road, has not stopped those who are paying money while canvassing door-to-door. He also questioned the ban on hijab in Karnataka, saying that if it is Hindu, then everyone should wear the poonal and everyone should be allowed inside the Hindu place of worship.

He raised questions like will Brahmins go to school without wearing poonal? He also questioned whether the Modi government had the courage to tell Sikhs to stay in the army without wearing a turban. He said it was a long-standing practice for women to wear burqas but none of the men wearing saffron shawls were wearing it wholeheartedly. Natural resources are being exploited in all districts. The Western Ghats are being destroyed. Seeman, the chief co-ordinator of the Naam Tamil Party, ended the interaction.
