Coimbatore Koniyamman Temple Car Festival to commence on 14th

Temple car will depart from the Raja Street Car Station and return to the Car Grounds via Raja Street, Oppanakkara Street, Karuppagounder Street, and Vysial Street. Also, the Car Festival will conclude with the Spring Festival on March 6th. Arrangements for the ceremony are being made by the temple executive chairman Selvam Periyasamy.


Coimbatore: The Koniyamman Temple Car Festival, the guardian deity of Coimbatore, is celebrated every year. This year's chariot festival will kick off on Monday the 14th with a special ceremony.

Following this the Car Festival will take place on the 15th at 7.30pm. On the 21st Gramshanthi, on the 22nd the flag hoisting ceremony will be held at 7.30 pm. Similarly, on the 23rd there will be a series of events such as the Amman Traveedi Ride in the Tiger Vehicle.

Also, on the 24th, there will be a procession of parrot shaped vehicle on the 25th there will be a procession of a lion shaped vehicle, on the 26th there will be a procession of an elephant shaped vehicle, on the 27th there will be a procession of a camel shaped vehicle and on the 28th a procession of a white elephant shaped vehicle. Then, on March 1, the Tirukkalyana ceremony will take place. The summit event is scheduled to take place on March 2 at 2 p.m.

Accordingly, the car will depart from the Raja Street Car Station and return to the Car Grounds via Raja Street, Oppanakkara Street, Karuppagounder Street and Vysial Street. Also, the Car Festival concludes with the Spring Festival on March 6th. Arrangements for the ceremony are being made by the temple executive chairman Selvam Periyasamy.
