Coimbatore: The Koniyamman Temple Car Festival, the guardian deity of Coimbatore, is celebrated every year. This year's chariot festival will kick off on Monday the 14th with a special ceremony.
Following this the Car Festival will take place on the 15th at 7.30pm. On the 21st Gramshanthi, on the 22nd the flag hoisting ceremony will be held at 7.30 pm. Similarly, on the 23rd there will be a series of events such as the Amman Traveedi Ride in the Tiger Vehicle.
Also, on the 24th, there will be a procession of parrot shaped vehicle on the 25th there will be a procession of a lion shaped vehicle, on the 26th there will be a procession of an elephant shaped vehicle, on the 27th there will be a procession of a camel shaped vehicle and on the 28th a procession of a white elephant shaped vehicle.
