Valparai: A bison that got trapped in the mud in Valparai region was successfully rescued after two hours.
A bison unfortunately fell and was trapped in the mud while the animal tried drinking water from a pond nearby. The bison was seen strolling in the Pannimadai estate region of Manampalli Forest range.
The information about the animal struggling to get out for a long time was passed on to the forest officials, by the estate workers.
The rescue team, anti-poaching guards, and the human-animal conflict mitigation team, arrived at the spot led by forest officer Manikandan, rescued the bison stuck in the mud after about 2 hours of struggle.
The bison was rescued alive and released into the forest.
