Police are investigating after recovering the body of a taxi driver with injuries near the Vadavalli Onapalayam private hotel in Coimbatore.
Coimbatore: Police received information that an unidentified male corpse was found with injuries on the body near a private hotel in Vadavalli Onapalayam in Coimbatore.
Following this, the police recovered the body and sent it to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for autopsy. The victim was identified as Sanu, (28), of Pappanaickkenpalayam, Coimbatore, who was working as a driver for a red taxi company.
According to reports, he was on-duty in the Thondamuthur area last night. It is understood that Sanu was called to go from the Thondamuthur Onapalayam private hotel to the Coimbatore airport. After going there, the cell phone and GPS were disconnected. Sanu's body had bloody wounds. Vadavalli police are investigating the incident.

Meanwhile, there was a commotion, as more than 200 Red Taxi drivers protested at the Red Taxi office in Saibaba Colony, demanding that the family of the taxi driver who mysteriously died is given due compensation.

Protestors also demanded that the case is seriously investigated.
