Wild elephant storms tea plantation in Valparai in broad daylight

Anti-poaching guards chased away the lone wild elephant back into the forest.


Valparai: A lone elephant stormed a tea plantation leaving workers panic-stricken on Wednesday morning.

The movement of wild elephants has been on the rise in Valparai's tea estate areas. A lone elephant from the forest area of Sellaliparai estate near Valparai ambushed No.6 tea plantation on Wednesday morning causing tea plantation workers to run in fear.



On being informed, the Valparai Forest Department's anti-poaching guards rushed to the spot and chased the elephant out of the tea plantation and into the forest.This disrupted the work of tea plantation workers for a while.
