Coimbatore: Ahead of the upcoming local body elections, Election Observer for Coimbatore district and Principal Secretary Har Sahay Meena on Tuesday inspected the counting centre at the Government College of Technology, here.
The local body elections will be held in a single phase on the 19th across Tamil Nadu, followed by the counting of votes on the 22nd.
The Government College of technology located on the Thadagam road has been declared as the counting center for 100 wards in Coimbatore.
The District Administration has been monitoring the ongoing security measures at GCT including setting up strong rooms, CCTV cameras and waiting rooms for party functionaries.
Election Observer Hara Sahay Meena along with the District Collector G.S. Sameeran, Corporation Commissioner, Rajagopal Sunkara and Police Commissioner, Pradip Kumar inspected the voting centre to ensure if all security measures and protocols are in place.
They inspected the counting room, security room and the strong doors of the room.
The team also inquired about the work of installation work of the CCTV camera in the security room and setting up of basic amenities.
