The Election Flying squad, who was on duty at Sarcarsamakulam seized the money, as it was above the stipulated amount as per the election code of conduct. Rajendran of Sulur carried an amount of Rs.1.80 lakhs without the supporting documents.
Flying squads and monitoring committees have been formed to prevent the distribution of money and gifts to voters as the election code of conduct is in force.
The flying squads led by Special Tahsildar Mary Vinitha were conducting an intensive vehicle search near Anna Nagar pond in Sarcarsamakulam Town Panchayat.
