Coimbatore: The DMK candidate Ilakkumi Karthik who is contesting in the upcoming local body elections campaigned at her ward.
DMK candidate Ilakkumi Ilanjelvi Karthik began her door-to-door campaign at ward no 52. She highlighted the achievements of the DMK government and collected votes. The candidate will be contesting on behalf of the DMK-led Secular Progressive Alliance, Coimbatore Municipal Corporation.
Ilakkumi Karthik went door-to-door campaigning at Dhanalakshmi Nagar, Ram Lakshmanan Nagar, Sri Dhanalakshmi Nagar extension, handed out leaflets and collected votes for the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.
Thanking the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin for the opportunity to contest in this ward, she said, 'I am contesting in this ward for the second time and once I win, I will meet all the basic needs of the people in this area.', she said.
She promised to take steps to renovate the 1000 Semmozhi Parks built during the Semmozhi Conference held at the time of Ex-Chief Minister Karunanidhi, stating they lack maintenance. She further promised to facilitate drinking water every two days, stating that the locals mentioned they received drinking water every ten days.
'I will immediately take up works of rainwater drain and underground sewerage connection, and I expect the public here to help me win.'
