Unconscious elephant is being treated for a second day on Monday

Elephant blood and dung were collected and sent for analysis. According to the study, everything is in good condition and the elephant is being given glucose, fruits and jaggery to keep it hydrated.


Coimbatore: Forest officers and veterinarians were informed that a female elephant was lying unconscious in the Periyathadagam area of Coimbatore yesterday.

The team swung into action and have been treating the animal since yesterday. Yesterday, a tent was set up around the elephant. Glucose was administered to the animal, fruits and jaggery were given along with Soorana kudineer. Also, the elephant was given a series of treatments as it was unconscious.

The elephant is still being treated for a second day, on Monday. Elephant blood and dung were collected and sent for analysis. According to the study, everything is good.
