Coimbatore: AIADMK candidate Dr. Sharmila met the tribes at Marudhamalai and campaigned in the area for the upcoming local body elections.
Dr. Sharmila Chandrasekhar is contesting in the upcoming urban local body elections on behalf of AIADMK in Ward 38 of Coimbatore Corporation.
After worshipping at the Marudhamalai Murugan Temple in Coimbatore, she distributed leaflets to the tribals in the area. She was greeted by tribals with an Aarathi, a shawl, and a bouquet. She recalled that during the AIADMK rule, various welfare schemes including patta, houses, and drinking water facilities were given to the people of the area.
Following this, she met the traders at the foot of Marudhamalai and the voters in areas including, Thalapathy Nagar and Ganpati Nagar to rally support AIADMK.
Speaking at the time, Sharmila Chandrasekhar said several welfare schemes had already been implemented under the AIADMK regime in the area and if she wins, she would take over and complete the pending works.
City District Amma Sabha Joint Secretary Anbu alias Senthilprabhu, 38th Ward Secretary Rayappan, State Advocate Division Joint Secretary Vakil Manoharan and corporation functionaries were present during the campaign.
