Manipulating a woman that she had a ‘Thali Dosha’ (defects with her marriage), godman cheated her by stealing gold chain, search operation launched by police to nab the godman
Coimbatore: The police are on the lookout for a godman who stole a gold chain from a woman stating she had defects with her marriage.
Sivakumar (47) is the son of Velayutham of Devendra Road, Selvapuram, Coimbatore. His wife who was at home on Thursday morning was reportedly approached by a godman stating she had ‘Thali Dosha’ and she should perform pujas.
Frightened, she agreed to perform the puja and handed over her two-and-a-half sovereign gold nuptial chain to the so called saint. The man disguised as a saint, who performed the puja gave a lemon to Sivakumar's wife.
She reportedly fell unconscious after taking the lemon. Shocked to see the godman missing from the house as she recovered, the lady realized of the fraud.
Sivakumar lodged a complaint with the Selvapuram police.Police have registered a case on the complaint and are investigating. A search is launched to nab the godman.
