Coimbatore: The 53rd death year of Arignar Anna was celebrated in Coimbatore Thursday.
Political parties across Tamil Nadu, including DMK and AIADMK, have been paying floral tributes to Annadurai, the former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister on his 53rd death anniversary.

In the run-up to the local body elections, tributes were paid to Anna at party offices as they have banned public events.

Accordingly, AIADMK MLAs, Amman K Arjunan, K. R. Jayaram also paid floral tributes. Many AIADMK workers also paid tributes. This year, his death anniversary is being observed in a simple manner at the respective party offices as the election code of conduct is in force.
