Rs.1,40,000 cash which was being carried without proper documents was seized in line with the Election Code of Conduct which is in force ahead of urban local body polls.
Coimbatore: Following the Election Code of Conduct which is in force for the urban local body polls in Coimbatore, the flying squad which searched a vehicle in Selvapuram on Ramamurthy Road in Coimbatore, seized Rs.1,40,000 since the cash was being carried without proper documents.
The squad was conducting a routine vehicle check on Wednesday at 12.30 pm in Ward No.79 of Coimbatore Southern Zone. The seized cash of Rs.1,40,000 was handed over to the Coimbatore District South Assistant Treasury Officer after informing the Sub-Treasurer in the Race Course area of the city.
