Coimbatore: The railways department has announced that additional coaches will be annexed with the Chennai-Mangalore express, in view of the passengers’ convenience.
In a statement issued by the Railways, it was stated that “considering the convenience of Coimbatore passengers, additional coaches have been attached to the Chennai Egmore-Mangalore Express train.
As corona infection has subsided, there has been a substantial increase in railway passengers. In a bid to clear the extra rush of passengers, the Railways is incorporating additional coaches in express trains. A general second class coach is permanently attached to the express train (Train No:16159) which runs daily from Egmore to Mangalore Central, Chennai.
Similarly, an additional coach will be connected in the daily express train (Train No:16160) between Mangalore Central and Chennai Egmore on the other route,” it said.
