Coimbatore: Flying squad team confiscated money that was carried without relevant document during their usual vehicle check in Coimbatore on Tuesday.
The urban local body elections will be held in Tamil Nadu, Coimbatore on the 19th of February and the election code of conduct is in force since the date of the announcement. Subsequently, the election commission in the district has beefed up surveillance in the city to stop the exchange of gifts, money, and any such items for votes.

The flying squad seized the money and handed it over to the government treasury.
It is important to keep in mind that, as per the election code of conduct, it is advised to have relevant documents if cash exceeds ₹ 50,000. In case of the absence of documents, cash will be seized and handed over to the government treasury authorities, which shall be returned to its owner after producing valid documents.
