Local police are on the hunt for robbers who made away with 23 sovereigns of gold jewellery from a locked house in Malumichampatti in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: Miscreants break in and loot about 23 sovereigns of gold jewellery from a house in Malumichampatti. The Chettipalayam police have launched an investigation.
About 23 sovereigns of jewellery was looted from the house of a tailor in Malumichampatti, Coimbatore, triggering fears among the people in the area.
Sasirekha, (39) of Ambal Nagar in Malumichampatti runs a sewing training center in the same area. Reportedly, Sasirekha left to her relative’s house on the 20th to Sathyamangalam and returned home on Tuesday to find the front door broken open.
About 23 sovereigns of gold jewellery that was kept in the bureau had been looted after which she lodged a complaint with the Chettipalayam police station. Police rushed to the spot and lifted the fingerprints of the robbers from the crime scene and are actively searching for the robbers.
