The local police have intensified investigations after finding the corpse of a 47-year-old in a canal neat the Podanur Railway track, who was reported missing two days back
Coimbatore: A missing priest from the Kinathukadavu Arasampalayam region has been recovered dead from a canal near the railway track.
Senthil Kumar, (47) of Arasampalayam North Road near Kinathukadavu is a priest at the temple nearby. His wife passed away 10 years back and is survived by two sons Ganesh, (26), and Manikandan, (24).
Senthil Kumar, who left home on the 31st at around 9 pm never returned home and the police were on a lookout for him based on a missing report filed.
Meanwhile, Senthil Kumar was found dead in a canal on the side of the Podanur Pollachi Broad Rail Line tracks passing through Arasampalayam near Kinathukadavu on Tuesday. The Podanur Railway Police informed the Kinathukadavu police of the incident, after which Senthil Kumar’s body was recovered and sent to Pollachi Government Hospital for autopsy.
The Kinathukadavu police have registered a case and are investigating Senthil Kumar's death.
